When it comes to my gender I took the scenic way in life and now I'm asking you to go down that road with me.

This song was written as a challenge by SlowPitchSound who created a sample pack from the 1980 album Sky2 featuring John Williams and many other brilliant musicians. The challenge was to write a song using only those samples. The song is a patchwork. I love the way the pops and crackles from the record are embedded in the DNA of the samples. I love how cacophonous it is in parts. The dissonance really does a lot to highlight the gender confusion. There is a small sense of relief in the drastic tonal shift at the very end of the song where the protagonist has gone through their epiphany and feels more self actualized.
